CPA Anne Mbughuni is an Accountant registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) of Tanzania since 1990. She also holds a Master of Social Science – Accounting and Finance (University of Birmingham, UK 1993). She started her career as an Accountant at Mzumbe (a higher learning institution) in 1982 and then became a Lecturer at the same institution in 1990. She also worked as a Consultant and Researcher in Accounting, Finance, Gender, Management and Local Government Management. She was also a Female Students Counsellor for five years.
In 2001, Anne was appointed as the first Director of Finance and Administration of the then newly established National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) of Tanzania. She later joined the National Insurance Corporation and thereafter the Fair Competition Commission in the same capacity. She retired from public service in 2018.
Since 2011 Anne also served on the Board and Board Audit Committees of a number of Institutions including the NBAA, National Microfinance Bank, Institute of Accountancy Arusha and Mzumbe University. Currently, she sits on the Board of Directors of NHIF, Institute of Finance Management and Tanzania Commercial Bank. Anne is now a freelance Consultant in Accounting and Finance, Management and Governance. Anne participated in a WIL conference held in Kampala in 2009, where she also presented a paper.
