Prudence Shabangu

Prudence Shabangu, a national of Eswatini, is a Business Support Associate at WFP since January 2014 to date. She holds a Masters degree in Professional Development from the University of the Free State, a University Degree in Education and a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Eswatini College of Technology. She is working towards her Ph.D. in Gender and Development.

Ms Prudence Shabangu has over 25 years of working experience. In WFP she has been working as a support structure to the Country Director’s office overseeing all units, Programme, Supply Chain, Finance and Human Resources. In WFP she is committed to the objectives of the Programme to save lives and improve the livelihoods of the most vulnerable populations.

Prudence plays a role in the involvement of government and partners in promoting ownership of projects and programmes to communities, providing support in planning, formulation and implementation of integrated resilience programmes, promoting ownership and effectiveness of food security and nutrition programmes at national and community levels through meetings, workshops and fieldwork.

Prudence worked as PA with executive managers from different organisations in the country, i.e. National Maize Corporation, National Agricultural Marketing Board, Mananga Management Centre, International Development Centre for Africa, to name but a few.

She sensitises and supports Cooperating Partners (CPs), UN Agencies, Government and other units on SPEA issues – facilitating to communities and cooperating partners as well as Government; Serves as escalation Point liaising with government, Diplomatic Community and providing solutions on complex issues related to the country office, using initiative and following processes to ensure timely resolutions of problems.
