This expedition is designed for the responsible traveller that is keen to take on a challenge and support our ongoing community and wildlife programmes. Whether you stay with us for 6, 10 or 12 weeks, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference through sustainable, life-changing project work and at the same time take on personal challenges as you trek mountains with volunteers from all over the world.
Participants will share their skills and learn new ones and make a valuable contribution to sustainable development. This provides an opportunity for them to apply their skills, talents and ideas. Volunteers will take up short or longer term volunteering opportunities which include:
- help out in schools or the home work with subjects such as English, math, geography, and science
- lead or participate in discussion in young people’s support groups
- provide sports coaching or simply play sport with local children
- participate in community building projects and income generating schemes
- get involved in sustainable development activities – learning about the effects and solutions to climate change, getting involved in environmental protection and conservation projects such as tree planting, recycling and composting
- support the development of small community businesses – e.g. by offering training, advice or labour
- provide training and support in ICT/computer skills, entrepreneurship
