Adv. Patricia M K Maganga
Advocate Patricia M K Maganga is a career Public Servant for over three decades to date. She started her service with the Attorney General’s Chambers and later she was seconded to government ministries where she spearheaded a number of legal reforms mostly with the Health and Social Welfare Sectors. A number of legislations were passed conspicuously on the marginalized group such as the Law of the Child, Persons with Disabilities, Community and Health Insurance Funds, which aimed at ensuring availability of affordable health services to the needy, mostly women and children.
She is currently with the President’s Office, Teachers’ Service Commission which deals with among other issues, administration and maintenance of teachers’ service, determining appeals from decisions of disciplinary authorities, the welfare of teachers to meIn Tanzania most teachers are female so the organization in taking cognizance of this fact, is doing awareness on gender issues and critical role of women in the society bearing in mind a swahili saying “mkono uleao mwana ndiyo huinua Taifa”, literally meaning that the hand that holds a baby, is the one that lifts up the Nation but a few.
